Wigs by Hair Creations

Whether you suffer from hair loss, recovering from chemotherapy treatment or just want a change in hairstyle, finding the right wig can be daunting as all wigs are not equal.

Here are a few common wig wearing myths that are often associated with wearing a wig and the facts behind them so you can feel reassured as a first time wig-wearer.

Here is what our customers say:

“Hello Colleen, Many thanks to you for your expertise and advice! Well to my TOTAL amazement not one of the twelve women in my group guessed it was a wig. They all commented on how lovely my hair looked today and asked if I had been to a salon! I didn’t let on until we finished up that it was a wig. They said it was very natural looking and pretty. I’m very happy with the result.”

Wigs look fake?

Many wig-wearers fear that their wig looks fake and that people will notice it. Some brands have built their reputation on wigs of outstanding quality with a natural look and feel, stunning styles, colours from natural shades to trendy gorgeous highlights. Choose award winning brands like Ellen Wille or Raquel Welch, their models are really stunning. Lace front wigs are one of the most natural wigs for a natural and undetectable hairline.

Many wigs of our collections are monofilament top, so wherever our part your wig, it will gives the impression that the hair is coming from your own scalp. These monofilament wigs allow you to swtich your style up without any damage to their natural.

Here is what our clients say

Hi Donna, I came in on a Friday few weeks ago to buy the short blonde wig for my sister in Spain. I couriered it off to her the following Monday and she received it on the Friday, just as her hair started to come out in clumps, so she shaved it all off. She is thrilled with it, it suited her perfectly and is just like her own hair. Thanks so much for all the help you gave me on choosing this – it’s done wonders for her morale and I appreciate that you let me try on to find the perfect one! Thanks

Wigs fall off?

A great fear for most wig-wearers is that their wig will fall off. As long as your wig is properly fitted, this should not be the case.

There are a few steps you can take to ensure this doesn’t happen, and that your wig is firmly secure with a proper fit.

Our wig experts ensure that your wig is properly fitted and they will make any adjustments for a perfect fit and give you peace of mind. You also have the option for extra security to use wig tape “spots” for quick and easy use.

There are various methods such as tapes, wig clips and other wig accessories that will achieve this extra security but if you are buying a wig for the first time and do require further advice please contact one of our wig experts they will be happy to help.

Here is what our customers say:

“Next day after getting my wig, I went up to One Tree Hill. It was a very windy day – took some pictures. While looking at the photos the next day, it just crossed my mind: “I forgot I had a wig on despite the wind”. That is the kind of confidence I seek!!!! Fantastic”

Wigs are hot and uncomfortable?

First time wig wearers may believe that wearing a wig will make their scalp hot, uncomfortable and itchy. However, Top brand wig designers pay great attention to the construction of the wig to help air flow through the wig keeping your head cool. They use light weight breathable fabrics to reduce irritation to the most sensitive scalp and technological innovations to make their wigs as light as possible for great overall wear-ability. For example, some of the Ellen Wille wigs weigh less than 40 grams which creates an amazing comfort.

Many of our high-quality wigs are made from a monofilament material for lightness, comfort, amazing softness against the skin and for a completely natural appearance. The monofilament part of the wig is hand knotted on a fine lace base and gives this lightness in the wig making it so comfortable to wear and enjoy.

Despite all of this, some wigs may itch. However, you still have the option to wear a wig cap that will combat sensitivity on your scalp or use some bonjela (teething gel) which has proven very successful.

Here is what our clients say:

My wig is perfect. I love it and it feels so good to feel like me again. It looks very natural and very comfortable to wear.

Wigs inhibits natural hair growth?

A myth which surrounds wigs is that they slow down or even hinder the growth of your natural hair. This is FALSE. Wearing a wig will not inhibit hair growth. Many women choose to wear a wig or headscarf to boost confidence, feel good about themselves and also protect a sensitive scalp from the UVs of the sun.

This is what our clients say:

“When I first came to see you, I was rather upset at my hair loss situation. That day was a significant day to remember. After trying a few wigs, I left with 2 that day and have since purchased another as I looked so much better with my wig on than with my own hair which has regrown. I brought my sister in law in to purchase 3 as well!”

Good wigs do not look fake

ALL WIGS ARE NOT EQUAL.

If you need any further advice, please contact our wig experts who have years of experience and know what works and what does not.

This is what our clients say:

“The biggest challenge for a woman is losing her hair. The advice I received was wonderful, the colour match and style excellent. I am managing my looks well. Only people who know I am having treatment would know I am wearing a wig. I feel confident over the next few months I can ask for more advice when needed.”
